In a cash game, players can get up from the seats temporarily however, after two players have already left their seats, a third player may leave her/his seat although only temporarily. The third player is called the Third Man Walking and depending on the house rules, the layers needs to return either before 10 minutes have elapsed or before the one rotation of the dealer button around the table.

If the third man walking fails to return to the table within the stipulated time, then her/his place is forfeited to a waiting player, i.e. if there is a waiting list.
