Suck Out
A player faces a suck out when s/he is holding an extremely strong hand, but ends up losing to a player who’s holding a weaker hand, but had the luck of the draw on the board. For e.g. if player A has A-A and player B has 3-7, then from the looks of things, player A seems the most likely to win the pot.
If the community cards that show up are 4-9-2-3-3, then player A loses because of the trips that player B gets after getting a fortunate draw on the river card. In such a case, player A sucks out.
