In many card rooms and casino tables, the format for betting changes every now and then. While there is no fixed pattern to these changes, the change is usually made to the spread, or the minimum & maximum limits of the raise, in the game. When such changes are made or allowed, it is said that a structured betting system is being followed on the table or in the card room.
