Stand pat
In draw poker, players are allowed to discard cards and draw new ones in an attempt to complete their hands. However, if a player decides to continue with her/his original hand and not take any fresh cards, then s/he is said to be standing pat. The player may either be looking to bluff her/his opponents or may actually have a good hand, and in either case, it is said to be standing pat.
