Redraw
To redraw, in a game of poker, is usually associated with draw poker where a player may make multiple draws in the same round. Usually, in such a format, each betting round allows the player to make one draw and therefore, each time after the first draw, a player ends up redrawing.
In all forms of poker, including draw poker, a player is said to draw to a hand when s/he is looking to complete a particular sequence such trips, quads, two-pairs, a flush, etc. In a situation where a player has already made a complete hand after, say the flop, then s/he can go on and try for another hand, a higher hand, in the turn and the river.
The most common occurrence of such a case is when a player may have a hand, say 3-J. If the flop turns up 6-J-3, then s/he gets a hand with two pairs, 3-3 and J-J. While at this point, the player’s hand is complete, it can still be improved further especially if the turn or the river ends up being a 3 or a Jack, giving the player a full house. if the turn card is a Jack, then the player has basically redrawn to a full-house. If at this point, the river cards shows up as a Jack too, then the player will have redrawn to a four-of-a-kind.
Therefore, despite having a made hand, a player can choose to draw to another hand, a stronger hand, to strengthen one’s position.
