A rag is the name given to a card that has absolutely no value in a particular round of poker. Depending on the variation being played, the card has to hold the least value for the player and is not necessarily the lowest card in the deck.

Therefore, in a game where the lowest cards are considered a winning hand, a deuce or a three might be the card a player keeps a lookout for while a King or Queen may be a rag.
