Prop, proposition player
Prop players are a part of the house and are placed into games to either start games of poker or keep them active. These players get into the game every hour or so and usually use their own money to be proposition players unlike players who are placed into the game by casinos, called shills. Prop players play a role of starting games and keeping them going while ensuring that other players also stay active and keep the game interesting.
