Pat
A hand is said to be pat when it is dealt out as a complete hand in the first place. For e.g. if a player receives 3-5-9-T-J, all of the same suit, in the first hand of a game of draw poker, then the hand is said to be a pat hand. In this case, the player does not require any additional cards to complete the hand although some cards may help improve the situation. Therefore a made hand received on the deal is said to be a pat hand.
