Passive
A passive style of play in poker refers to a playing style where a player focuses less on betting and raising. A passive player tends to fold or at the most, call. This is, however, different from a tight player who will call or raise conservatively.
A passive player only plays on strong hands and even raises when s/he receives a strong hand however, on moderately strong hands, where they might be drawing to a stronger hand, a passive player may choose to fold if other players bet. In the best case scenario, a passive player will call small bets if s/he believes that there is a strong probability for their hand to become strong over the course of the round.
A table is said to be passive if there are passive players playing on it. It is usually characterized by very few bets going in before the flop.
