Any royal card in a deck of cards is known as paint. This is mainly due to the fact that the royal cards, i.e. Jack, Queen and King, are picture cards unlike the remaining deck. However, royals are referred to as paint only when they are brought into play in lowball games where they are completely useless being amongst the highest cards that are available in the deck.
