Option
An option is the chance for player to make an optional bet or draw. For e.g. a player may get an extra card, face down, by paying a little extra. The same can be achieved by raising on a big blind after the entire round comes back to the player without raises. In such a case, the player is given an option by being given an extra card. This rule is not applicable to all forms of poker though.
The option is also known as the right given to the big blind to raise the pot if there have been no raises by any of the other players in the round.
