Jackpot
A jackpot is either a term given to the format of the game that is being played or the pool of money that is deposited for the game. Jackpot Poker, also known as jackpots, is a form of poker that is a variant on the five-card draw. The game requires each player to put in an ante only. There is no requirement for any blinds from any of the players at any point in the game.
The game requires the players to have an opening requirement of a pair of Jacks at least. Only if a player has a pair of Jacks or above, can s/he place an opening bet.
In some casinos or card rooms, the house collects a large pool of money which is normally awarded to a player for some rare occurrence. For e.g. if a player faces a bad beat in a round, then s/he is awarded the jackpot as a compensation of sorts.
