This is a common phrase used mostly by announcers of televised games as well as something that is normally used in the poker community when, in a tournament, a player manages to finish in one of the positions that offers a prize payout.
Commonly referred to as ITM, tournaments normally have prize payouts limited to the final table only and if a player reaches the final table, he is said to be ITM or In The Money.
