Gypsy

There are occasions in a game of poker where a player may simply want to see the cards on the flop or turn or river before making a decision of going further in the game with the hand that s/he has. In such a case, the player may enter the pot by simply calling the blind rather than raising it even if s/he has a relatively decent hand.

The player, called a gypsy, may have a marginally stronger hand but feels that there needs to be something more for her/him to make a stronger bet. In case of favourable cards showing up on the flop, then the person may bet further. However, in case the bets rise before any favourable card is received, the gypsy may simply fold rather than calling the bet or raising it.
