Drag light

At casual home games, if a player doesn’t have enough money left to cover a bet then s/he is allowed to remove a few chips from the pot to indicate this. The significance of removing the chips from the pot is that although the player doesn’t have enough chips, s/he decides to keep the chips taken from the pot as a sign of being a part of the bet, without actually putting in the chips for it.

If the player wins, then the amount that s/he had to put in is ignored as obviously, it would have gone back to the player. However, if the player ends up losing the round, then those chips are put back into the pot and awarded to the winner of the hand while the amount that the player was short by, has to be paid out of her/his pocket.

Drag light is a concept that is applicable only in home games that are extremely casual and is not prevalent in any casinos or tournaments.
