Double-ace flush

In different variations of poker, players or the dealer recommended different ways of playing the game. One of the popular variations is to use a wild card, one that can acts as a joker and can take up any colour or suit. In some variation formats, this wild card is given a distinct value, something that is already present in the deck.

When the wild card is assigned to be an Ace of Spades, then the pack ends up having two Aces of spades – the original card and the wild card.

Let us assume that in a game of poker, the 2 of diamonds has been made a wild card and has been assigned the fixed value of Ace of Hearts. When the cards are dealt out, a player receives the hand A (hearts) – 4 (Spades). The flop turns up as 4 (Hearts)- 6 (Spades) – 2 (Diamonds). The turn card is 9 of Hearts while the river card is King of Hearts.

So effectively, the player has a hand that is all hearts with A-4-A-9-K. Therefore, while having two Aces of hearts, the player manages to have a flush with a wild card in her/his hand.
