Defense
In poker, players often tend to “steal” a few hands, which basically means that they bluff their opponents into believing that they have a better hand than they actually do. This trick is an extremely aggressive move that tends to push other people onto the back foot, especially by forcing the players with good hands into believing that they might not have a chance.
Such an aggressive move by players often requires other players to react with a defensive move.
To create a stable defense, the player looking to defend needs to identify with some level of certainty that the aggressive player is indeed bluffing. In such a case, especially when raising heavily on a blind, the best defense against such kind of aggression is to call or raise back again. This sort of action puts pressure on the aggressive player to either take their weaker hand forward with more bets, thus losing more money, or simply folding, which effectively opens up their playing technique to the table.
In such ways, there are defenses for all sorts of aggressive maneuvers in the world of poker and all sorts of aggressive plays, bluffs, isolation plays and other forms, have a stable and safe defense that works in favour of the other players on the table.
