Complete hand
A complete hand in poker is the name given to a hand that doesn’t require any more cards to become complete. Also known as a “made hand”, a complete hand is not the same as a drawing hand where the player needs to wait for the right cards to show up either on the board or as a discard from someone, in particular formats of the game.
This sort of a situation can occur in a game like draw poker where a player might receive two pairs and have a complete hand although because an opponent is probably looking for a complete hand, s/he might still be interested in the draw. In such a case, the drawn card, may improve the player’s hand even though s/he might not need it to.
As far as the other player is concerned, s/he might require the drawn card to complete the hand and in case the desired card(s) show(s) up, then that player is also said to have a complete hand.
