Cash plays
Cash plays are certain exceptions to the normal rule of playing only with chips, in casinos and many poker rooms. The term cash play is normally an announcement made by the dealer who announces that a particular player may desire to buy more chips to place a bet. However, in lieu of chips, the player places the bet with cash that would eventually be replaced by chips. The cash is merely a substitute for the chips until they arrive at the players’ table.
