Bottom end
The bottom end is the name given to the lowest straight that can be formed combining the player’s hand-held cards and the cards on the board. When the board holds a straight sequence, say 4-5-6, then the player with 2-3 has the bottom hand or the lowest straight.
This is opposed to someone who either has a 3-7 or a 7-8 which are the high or highest hands respectively. This sort of a low hand is called bottom end or even the idiot end.
