In a game of poker, when a player loses a lot of money over a long time, then the term is called bleeding. The situation normally occurs in a game where a player constantly bets small amounts of money and each time, a loss results in losing a small pot. However, over the duration of the game, this small pot may amount to a lot of money and is comparable to bleeding from a small cut.
