Tell
In a game of poker, players keep an eye out for facial or bodily expressions of their opponents to get hints of what type of cards a player holds. By understanding an opponent’s hand, a player can make a better judgment about the bets that s/he wants to place.
A tell is basically a movement, an expression or any sort of sign given out by a player, which gives her/his opponents an understanding about the kind of hand that player has. It is quite important for a player to understand “tells” especially when they are made habitually by the player, rather than deliberately.
Players also try to fool their opponents by making deliberate movements or expressions to make others believe that they have either a strong or weak hand to put them off.
