In a game of poker, if two or more players are still competing for the pot after the last round of betting has concluded, then the players need to show their cards to the other players on the table. Once the players have displayed their cards or opened their hands, they are compared to see who has the strongest hand and therefore, the winner of the pot is determined with the showdown.
