A shootout is a format that is followed in poker tournaments. The idea of the shootout is to pit the last player on a table against all the other last players on each table. Despite eliminations, the tournament supervisors do not balance the tables out and the game continues in this format. The shootout is extremely common in European poker rooms and is also a popular concept in their poker shows on television.
