Rabbit hunt
A rabbit hunt, also known as a fox hunt in many circles, is a situation where the dealer reveals the cards that would have appeared on the board, had the game gone on to the river, instead of ending where it actually did. This means that if the game ended pre-flop, the dealer would reveal the flop, the turn and the river that would have actually flopped up on the table.
This practice is usually not allowed in casinos as the rabbit hunt tends to slow the game down considerably. While it may not affect individual players on a table, the overall earnings of the casino will reduce over a large period of time. Concealed hands, that were folded, may be revealed after the rabbit hunt, depending on the players’ reactions to the cards.
For e.g. if a round of poker ends after all but one of the player folds after the pre-flop or initial bet, then the dealer may decide to do a rabbit hunt and therefore, reveal the flop, the turn and the river cards as s/he would have actually revealed them in the game.
