Grinder
A grinder is usually a reference to a player or person who believes in playing slow and winning small. A grinder never likes to build up large pots and entice players to bet in when s/he knows that s/he has a chance to win the round. Instead, the grinder plays similar to a rock in that s/he chooses only strong hands to play ahead and bets in small amounts.
It is not unnatural for a grinder to simply call other players’ raises even though s/he may have a better chance of raising the pot even higher with some clever raises. The grinder is always quite conservative in her/his playing style and prefers low-key wins rather than big bulging pots. They are extremely patient and believe in accumulating wins over a longer period of time rather than win quickly and in a quick succession.
