Fouled hand
A fouled hand is similar to a dead hand in that the hand is considered unplayable. This is more due to the violation of some of the fundamental laws of poker rather than any other situational issue. In cases where the player receives less or more cards than what s/he is supposed to, it is said to be a fouled hand and the player has no option but to sit out that hand.
Similarly, if the cards are accidently mixed with the cards of other players, then they are also considered as a fouled hand as this can sometimes lead to interchange of cards amongst players, whether knowingly or accidentally. If a card or hand is mixed with the discarded cards or the deadwood, then the hand is again considered to be a fouled hand.
If a player, accidently or knowingly, touches another player’s cards, then the player is disqualified from that particular round and the hand becomes a fouled hand as well.
