Exposed card
During deals, or often deliberately, a card that is meant to be delivered face down, may get exposed or land face up and become visible to the other players. In such a case, depending on the stage of the round when the card was exposed as well as the person who exposes it, each variation of poker as well as each association has a different way of dealing with the exposed card.
If the card has been exposed by the dealer when handing out everyone’s cards, then the exposed card is either discarded and is no longer a part of the deck, or in some cases, may be added back to deck at a random place in the middle.
In other circumstances, if a player reveals a card accidently, s/he can either continue playing with the card or forfeit the entire hand as well as the amount that has already been placed in the pot.
There are specific occasions when a player might deliberately expose a card to an opponent or to the other players on the table. In such a case, no action is taken as the card is exposed with the intention of bluffing the opponent or misleading them into making assumptions about one’s playing style.
