Crying call
A crying call is almost a way of helplessly reacting to the session of play. A call becomes a crying call when a player makes the call and puts in the bet despite knowing that s/he doesn’t have the best hand, or even a hand that could come out with a win. Normally, this occurs in the case of anticipatory calling in the hope that the community cards might hold the winning card.
However, when the river also doesn’t turn up with anything useful, and the player still goes on and makes the call either because s/he has gone this far and doesn’t want to turn back or because s/he believes that there could be nothing more to lose, it is called a crying call.
