During a game there might be a case when a player shares a buy in with another player or players, with the intention of splitting any winnings that come her/his way. While an unlikely occurrence in tournament play, it has been known to exist in casinos and especially in games played at home.

The player who agrees to share the buy in, with the one who is looking for a partner, is known as the cow and the process of making such an arrangement is referred to as “to go cow”.
