A brick is a term used to describe a blank card that is more than just inconsequential. Many times, a player may get a card on the turn, flop or river that can be of no apparent use to her/him. However, in some cases these blanks may cause more damage and each time that a blank card is detrimental to a player, it is termed as a brick.

A card that is considered a brick is also, at times, known as a rag.
